over our prairie grass?
mirage dance
on asphalt
patches
baking
keep life
from seeping
sticky licorice
bubbles
burning nostrils
cough
dazzling shines
vulcan teeth
sneer
devours
society
inside
they wander
and slip
tossing their
fortunes
across
acres of
beaming
